David Booty, President

David Booty is a proven industry professional with a broad base of technical, operational and financial skills. David has spent the majority of his career as a consultant, helping clients improve upon their strategic, tactical, and technological business processes. Over the past 10 years, David has concentrated on deregulated energy markets and, in 2001, was instrumental in establishing one of the first competitive retailers in Texas.

Prior to Power Brokers, David was responsible for Commercial/Industrial and Residential operations for Direct Energy. His experience and leadership in the energy business makes him ideally suited to lead Power Brokers.

David graduated with a Masters degree from Texas A&M University.

Steve Hardy, Managing Director

Steve Hardy has provided consulting services to the energy industry since 1984, primarily to electric and gas utilities and related public and private sector institutions. Currently, Steve specializes in establishing near- and long-term energy management strategies, helping commercial and industrial clients mitigate risk and avoid excessive costs associated with the volatility of electricity and natural gas prices.

Notably, Steve was heavily involved in establishing Senate Bill 7, the Texas Electric Restructuring Bill, with representations on numerous energy committees, law-making sessions, and energy workshops.

Steve has extensive expertise in assessing industrial and commercial sector energy usage and investment behavior, as well as assisting energy services companies develop, implement, and enhance their product and service offerings. Steve has extensive experience closing and delivering numerous multi-million-dollar consulting engagements, including several market transformation assessments and evaluations of numerous residential and commercial markets and industry groups.

Through his experience Steve has become an authority on performance contracting, energy conservation measures implementation, energy resource management, electric restructuring, and advanced hedging derivatives.

Prior to his deregulated energy work, Steve was a Senior Associate at Quantum Consulting where he directed a series of engagements which included conducting market analyses, developing marketing plans and programs, as well as designing and implementing complex quantitative and qualitative, integrated resource plans for a number of utilities.

Prior to that Steve was the Manager of Program Implementation and Evaluation for Xcel Energy, the parent company of Public Services of Colorado, Southwestern Public Service Company and Northern States Power.

Marcie Bowles, Controller

Marcie Bowles has over 24 years of experience in Accounting across various industries where she has has significant impact in accuracy and precision by making complex accounting ideas, procedures, and processes easy to understand and meaningful.

As Controller, Marcie oversees corporate administration, including finance, accounting, human resources and facilities.

Marcie graduated with a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Garret Kent, Portfolio Manager

Garret Kent has worked in the deregulated Energy market since 2003. He has experience on both the supplier and consultant sides of the business. Garret’s experience includes providing energy management solutions, cost evaluations, and industry education to national industrial and commercial clients. He also has extensive experience negotiating contracts, providing strategic development, and fostering client relations with multiple Fortune 500 companies.

As Portfolio Manager, Garret monitors risks and opportunities in the energy market to provide the best solutions and value for our clients.

Garret graduated with an MBA from Texas Christian University.
